International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples: Organising Committee Formed
In connection with the observance of the International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples 2026, a broad-based Organising Committee was constituted.

In connection with the observance of the International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples 2026, a broad-based Organising Committee was constituted under the joint initiative of the Sulthan Bathery Municipality, Neethi Vedhi, and various organisations across the district.
The meeting decided to organise district-level programmes at the Sulthan Bathery Municipal Town Hall on 7th and 8th August 2026.
The committee elected Shri I. C. Balakrishnan, MLA, Sulthan Bathery, as the Patron, Smt. Razina Abdul Khader, Chairperson of Sulthan Bathery Municipality, as the Chairperson, Shri Biju Kakkathod as the Convenor, and Shri Aneesh Babu as the Treasurer.
Various sub-committees were also formed to plan and coordinate the programmes. A total of 54 participants, including Municipal Councillors of Bathery, representatives of various organisations and educational institutions, and Tribal Promoters, attended the meeting.
